Verdasco survives challenge; Davydenko through as well

At the Catella Swedish Open top seeded Fernando Verdasco under-estimated Austrian player Daniel Koellerer, and in return was pushed to 3 sets in his first match in the tournament. He lost the first set in a tiebreak, then won the second set with confidence, and then had to save match-point before taking the last set and the match. The score was 67(1) 62 75.
At the Mercedes Cup, second seeded Nikolay Davydenko was like a locomotion as he defeated Michael Berrer with a score of 63 63. Top seeded Gilles Simon could not come up with any answers for local Mischa Zverev and so lost in straight sets with a score of 64 62.
