Israel takes quick lead over Russia
The Davis Cup quarterfinals have begun and the headlines were made by Israel, as they took a 2-0 lead over 2006 champions Russia. Harel Levy opened up the first rubber with a win over Igor Andreev in 4 sets, and Dudi Sela also gave his nation a spark of victory as he won over Mikhail Youzhny in 4 sets as well. Americans were down today as they were defeated by the Croatians, who now lead 2-0. James Blake was up 2 sets over Ivo Karlovic, when suddenly the situation turned around and Karlovic got the win. Spain is tied with Germany, and Argentina is tied with Czech Republic.
