Superb Federer overpowers Del Potro; defending champ goes home

Roger Federer showed his fire power on court as he absolutely humiliated world number six Juan Martin del Potro. The second seed needed just 1 hour and 20 minutes to clinch victory and a place in the semifinal. The score was 63 60 60, which was very surprising.

Federer's next opponent will be Andy Roddick, who beat defending champion Novak Djokovic, with Djokovic retiring because of a cramp and the effect of the heat. Djokovic called the trainer at the end of the third set to ice him down but was still showing signs of weakness at the start of the fourth set, then calling it quits at 2-1 in the fourth with Roddick on serve. The ending score of the match was 67(3) 64 62 21.
