Rafael Nadal had a much tougher time closing out Gilles Simon in the quarterfinals, but still managed to do it in straight sets. Nadal was far from his best but did just enough, with the score being 62 75 75.
The top seed will now face surprise winner Fernando Verdasco. Verdasco had a great run to the semis by beating Andy Murray in the fourth round and now, by beating fifth seeded Jo-Wilfried Tsonga with a score of 76(2) 36 63 62.
Tonight Federer and Roddick will take to the court for a place in the final!
