After a superb couple of days of play at the Qatar Open, Rafael Nadal has been defeated by Frenchman Gael Monfils. Though the Spanish master gave it his all, Monfils was just to quick for him and managed to finish him off with a score of 64 64. Monfils will now face Roddick in the semifinals.
Meanwhile on the other side of the draw, Roger Federer held his nerve to beat Philipp Kohlschreiber 62 76(6). And once again Federer will play.... Andy Murray! Murray beat Ukranian Sergiy Stakhovsky with a no problem 64 62 score.
While at the Chennai Open, both the remaining top seeds advance. Brisbane also saw third seed Fernando Verdasco advance and Paul-Henri Mathieu beat youngster Kei Nishikori.
