Federer and Djokovic triumph; Ferrer knocked out

It is the 5th day at the Aussie Open and Federer continues to shine as he walked away with victory in an entertaining match over former champion Marat Safin. The three-time champion Federer shut Safin out in straight sets of 63 62 76(5). Federer will next face Czech Tomas Berdych in the fourth round of the event.

Defending champ Novak Djokovic was tested by American Amer Delic but still overcame the scare with a 62 46 63 76(4) win. Both Djokovic and Delic informed their fans to behave during the match, and they did but after the match fighting erupted between the two groups with 2 men being arrested and another 30 eventually being thrown out after rival fans began throwing chairs and punches at each other. One women was knocked out by a chair.

David Ferrer did not follow the same fate though as he was beaten by 19th seeded Marin Cilic of Croatia in straight sets with a score of 76(5) 63 64. Other winners include Juan Martin del Potro and Andy Roddick.
