Verdasco captures first hard-court title

Fernando Verdasco cooled down Sam Querrey's fire as he won his first career hard-court title yesterday night. The Spaniard won in straight sets although he served up 11 double faults, and is going into this year's US Open with confidence. The score was 64 76(6) and Verdasco came out to play the final just a little after four hours after winning in two tiebreaks against Igor Andreev. He is seeded 10th at this year's US Open, while Querrey is seeded 22nd at the Open.

Great run for Verdasco after winning first title of this year, and good luck at the US Open!
