Murray denies del Potro first Masters shield

Andy Murray has won his fourth Masters title over Juan Martin del Potro. Murray looked to be in fresher form from the start, but del Potro had won the first set in a tiebreak. Juan Martin was coming into the tournament straight after winning the Washington title, but Murray was in his first tournament since Wimbledon after preparing on hard courts in Miami for two weeks. The last two sets saw del Potro waring out and Murray using the situation to his advantage to clinch the title with a score of 67(4) 76(3) 61. The match was 2 hours and 17 minutes long.

Murray will be projected as the new number 2 on Monday.
