Fourteenth seeded Marin Cilic was upset today by former top ten player David Ferrer. Ferrer made Cilic go to a tiebreak and won it 7-4, but then Cilic showed signs of disappointment and eventually Ferrer seized the opportunity to win the match 76(4) 62. Fernando Verdasco was also knocked out in two tie-break sets, but ninth seeded Gilles Simon got the hang of playing against Igor Andreev and definitely made the Russian feel discouraged and got the victory in three sets with a score of 76(5) 67(6) 61. Lleyton Hewitt got a huge win under his belt today by dispatching Robin Soderling by saving 2 match points.
