Second seeded Roger Federer started his campaign in Indian Wells with a bit of a rusty performance. Federer managed to beat Marc Gicquel in a two setter, with the first set being a challenge and the second a bit easier for the number two seed. The score was 76(4) 64.
Other winners for today include Andy Murray who won to Albert Montanes 75 63, and Fernando Verdasco.
