Nikolay Davydenko stunned the tennis world today as he went one step further than last year to win the biggest title of his career in London and became the first Russian to win the title. Davydenko showed power and preciseness as he stomped all over Juan Martin del Potro who was the favourite to win this match and if he would have, could have moved up to number 4 in the world. Not only did he win to the current US Open champion, he also defeated a number of Grand Slam champions along the way and hopefully that will give him confidence for next year to maybe even win his first Grand Slam. The score was 63 64 and Davydenko goes home with a cheque worth $1,510,000.
Well everyone, this is the end of the 2009 season. It was filled with amazing triumphs and some shocking falls that will be remembered for sometime, and hopefully next year will be even more exciting. Thank you for your support my readers, see you next year.
