Top seed upset in Moscow and Stockholm sees a walkover

Top seed Nikolay Davydenko has been knocked out by the number seven seed, former number one Marat Safin with a score of 76(5) 46 64. With this win, Safin has broken a four-match losing streak. Safin has also hit 17 aces and saved 4 out of 7 break points. Safin will next take on world number 98 Mischa Zverev.

In Stockholm, top seed David Nalbandian had an easy win to Albert Montanes with a score of 64 61 in just 63 minutes. Third seed, Jarkko Nieminen also had an easy win over Oscar Hernandez with a score of 61 64. Fourth seed, Robin Soderling won his match as well, over number five seeded Rainer Schuettler with a score of 62 75; but the second seeded Mario Ancic couldn't get to the next round because of a fever,  and so gave a walkover to Japanese wildcard and rising star, Kei Nishikori.
