
Marat Safin came on court in Perth on Sunday showing cuts and bruises on his face as the result of a fight in Moscow.
The Russian, playing at the Hopman Cup won to Simone Bolelli with a score of 76(5) 64.
Safin stated: "I got in trouble in Moscow." He added: "It's OK, I can survive. Just some small problem that I wasn't in the right place at the right time. Yes, I won the fight. I'm good, I'm OK."
Both Safin and his sister, Dinara lost to Italy in mixed doubles competition, but the tie to finish was 2-1 to Russia.
