
Second seeded Roger Federer effortlessly defeated qualifier Kevin Kim to book his ticket in the third round at the Sony Ericsson Open. Federer converted three of five break points and saved all five break points which he faced in his 64 minute encounter with the American. Federer won 63 62 and will next face German Nicolas Kiefer who saved a match point to defeat Fabrice Santoro of France.
Novak Djokovic also made progress as he saved all six break points faced to defeat Canadian qualifier Frank Dancevic 63 62 as well. Other winners for today include Marat Safin and Andy Roddick.
